Redevelopment of Ashton Gate Stadium for Ashton Gate

A transformative initiative that involved the demolition and construction of a new South Stand and West Stand (now known as the Lansdown Stand), along with the refurbishment of the existing Dolman Stand. This redevelopment increased the stadium’s seating capacity to approximately 27,000 seats.

To ensure the stadium remained operational for football and rugby events during the construction, the development was meticulously phased. This approach allowed for uninterrupted usage of the stadium, maintaining its role as a key venue for sports in the region.

A significant driver for this project was the goal of generating revenue on non-match days. To achieve this, the stadium was designed with flexibility in mind, accommodating a variety of uses such as exhibitions and conferences. This multipurpose design ensures the stadium is a vibrant hub of activity throughout the year.

Upon completion of the construction, the stadium’s concourses were enhanced with high-quality finishes, including LED lighting and signage both internally and externally. These upgrades not only improve the aesthetic appeal of the stadium but also enhance the overall experience for visitors.
